Every project is unique. Light, the experience of space, spacemaking, bringing the outside in..... the concept may differ, depending on the client and his/her wishes, the uniqueness of the place and it's (latent) values and the comon courage with the client to try out new forms and materials. We don't pick designs out of a picture book.

People, the (future) user in relation to the environment, to each other, society, public space, multifunctional use of space, to nature and to new developments in an always sustainable approach.
Projects with a major social impact give great satisfaction.

The experience as an urban planner with the government has laid a solid foundation for the knowledge of processes and procedures as well as for the recognition of sensitivities, tactical approach and the network. It is also there where the knowledge and love for the world heritage city was formed. "The world heritage inner city of Willemstad will forever have that special place in my heart."
Zarja Garmers-Rojer has also been the coordinator of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Curaçao for 4 years and in this position has once again experienced the direct satisfaction of the impact of forming young experts and entrepreneurs. At Zarja Architecture, we believe that sustainability should be a way of life.
Sustainability spans beyond our projects and into our daily routines, even at home, in our own environment. By "walking our talk" we keep on developing our knowledge, being open minded for new ways to work, new technologies, development of new communities and interactions and we collaborate in creating more sustainable environments.
